Barcelona are increasingly impressed with Xavi Espart, with a report from SPORT highlighting how the young full-back’s humility, loyalty and positive attitude have made him a highly valued member of Hansi Flick’s squad.
Espart’s progress received a major boost against Paris Saint-Germain on October 20, when he scored in Barcelona’s 2-4 Champions League defeat.
Despite the result, his display offered a strong indication of his growing importance to Flick’s first team.

As per the outlet, Espart remains grounded despite his growing prominence.
Away from football, he enjoys ordinary activities with his friends, including going for walks and making plans around town, without allowing his rising profile to change his behaviour.

That same attitude is said to define his relationships with teammates.
Rather than seeking attention, Espart is described as approachable, grateful and committed to maintaining a positive atmosphere within the group.
The feeling at Barcelona is summed up by a telling assessment from those around the club: “If only everyone were like Xavi.”
People close to the youngster also believe “He’s got a great head on his shoulders,” reflecting the maturity that has accompanied his development.
La Masia values central to his rise
Espart’s approach fits the principles traditionally associated with La Masia, where technical development is accompanied by an emphasis on teamwork and character.

His progress suggests he has retained those values while adapting to the demands of senior football.
The full-back, who can also operate as a midfielder, had the option of going out on loan during the summer but instead remained at Barcelona, worked hard and waited for his opportunity.
That patience has paid off under Flick, who has trusted him in the first team, and his performances have provided tangible evidence of that progress.
As such, the trip to Paris was an important examination of Espart’s readiness, considering the lack of options in defence for Barcelona, and his goal helped underline his potential despite Barcelona’s defeat.
His development now gives Flick another young option to rely on as Barcelona go through a demanding schedule, including Sunday’s El Clásico against Real Madrid on October 25.
