According to new MIIT (Ministry of Industry and Information Technology) listings in China, the Samsung Galaxy S27+ will miss out on a connectivity feature that has been around since the days of the Galaxy S21+, and that's UWB.

The Galaxy S27 series is expected to include 4 phones: Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro and S27 Ultra. The MIIT listing reveals all four models, but only the Pro and the Ultra are listed to support UWB. The Plus is left out, unfortunately, which may signal a broader shift in Samsung's strategy. The Pro could get higher-end features, while the Plus will remain as a more affordable big-screen alternative to the Ultra. The vanilla Galaxy S27 won't get it as well, but this is hardly a surprise as none of its predecessors had it.
Since the Galaxy S27 series is expected to arrive in early 2027, there's still a long way to go. There's a possibility that there's a mistake in the listing, and we hope that this is the case because ultra-wideband technology has become an inseparable part of today's flagships. Omitting UWB means the Galaxy S27+ won't support precise tracking with Samsung's SmartTag 3 and other similar accessories. It will rely solely on Bluetooth 6.0 positioning, which is far less accurate.
