Trump's son-in-law Jared Kushner
US president Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has denied allegations linking him to secret foreign bank accounts and hundreds of millions of dollars in transfers. The claims involve alleged financial arrangements connected to Israel, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Saudi Arabia.According to Vanity Fair, Dutch investigators gained access to a Russian military intelligence-linked server through a Russian hacker who agreed to cooperate with British and Dutch authorities. The server contained screenshots of Kushner’s iPhone, allowing investigators to view his screen as he used it.The report alleged that Kushner accessed a UAE-linked bank account that received around $750 million through transfers routed via Azerbaijan.
The account was held at First Abu Dhabi Bank and linked to the Watani Al Emarat Foundation, a UAE government-funded charity. Kushner was reportedly a signatory, although the account was not technically his.“Jared was looking for shortcuts in his diplomacy,” a source familiar with the alleged arrangement told Vanity Fair. The publication alleged that UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman initially discussed funding a foreign policy fund with Kushner during Donald Trump’s first administration.
It said the broader proposal did not materialise as planned, but alleged that at least $2 billion was subsequently placed in two or more accounts.“Jared promised MBZ that he’d push their agenda with Trump if they participated in a fund. He wanted normalization with Israel so that business could take off,” the report said, quoting a source.Vanity Fair also alleged that around $1 billion was transferred to Israel via Azerbaijan into a separate account.
It said some of the money may have been moved through Cyprus, while acknowledging that aspects of the alleged transactions remained unclear.
Kushner calls allegations ‘fabrications’
Responding to the report, Kushner rejected the claims and challenged the author to produce evidence.“The allegations made by this author are completely insane and never happened,” he said.In a post on X, Kushner said, “No bank statements, wire transfer records, account numbers, transaction dates, or other verifiable details were provided to support these extraordinary accusations.”
Kushner also said he had faced intense scrutiny, including congressional investigations and a special counsel investigation, and had voluntarily provided more than 30 hours of testimony.“None of these allegations ever surfaced, because none of these events ever happened,” he said.Calling the claims “outrageous fabrications”, he added, “This is not journalism. It is a mixture of fantasy, fiction, and advocacy, written by someone who is either deeply disturbed or acting with sinister intent.”Kushner’s counsel denied wrongdoing, while other individuals named in the report also disputed aspects of the allegations. The claims have not been established as proven wrongdoing. Any further assessment will depend on independently verifiable evidence, responses from those named and whether the allegations prompt formal scrutiny.
