KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia remains committed to supporting efforts to promote peace and stability in the region, including in southern Thailand, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
He said dialogue based on trust, mutual understanding and openness was crucial to achieving a comprehensive and lasting peaceful solution for the wellbeing of the people in southern Thailand.
Anwar said this in a Facebook post tonight after receiving a courtesy call from Malaysia's facilitator for the Southern Thailand Peace Dialogue Process, Retired Lieutenant General Datuk Ahmad Norihan Jalal, who was recently appointed to the post.
