Just when we thought Colin the Caterpillar had tried every fancy dress costume imaginable, M&S has unveiled what might just be his funniest makeover yet. Meet Trick or Treat Colin – or what we're calling 'two faced' Colin, because he has not one, but two full-sized faces for the very first time! More faces = more chocolate!
Launching in stores and online tomorrow, 14 October, the limited-edition Halloween cake embraces the age-old question: trick or treat? Thankfully, there's no need to choose. One side of Colin features his mischievous 'trick' personality, complete with spooky chocolate decorations, while the other sticks to his classic sweet 'treat' look. Flip him around and it's like getting two Colins in one. But one does question where his butt is?

The chocolate sponge cake is filled with Colin's signature chocolate buttercream and coated in milk chocolate, but it's the decorations that really steal the show. This year's design features six chocolate character decorations – the most ever seen on a Colin cake – alongside two different sprinkle blends that bring each side of Colin's personality to life.
And he costs £12.50 for a 640g size which feels like good value considering you can easily get 6-8 slices out of him. We'd happily make him the centrepiece of any Halloween party.
And if one Colin isn't enough, there's plenty more spooky fun where he came from. M&S has also launched Mini Trick or Treat Colin sponge rolls, with half dressed as little wizards for the 'trick' theme and the other half sporting Colin's classic 'treat' look. There's also a Trick or Treat Colin Box, packed with mini rolls, white chocolate boots, wizard faces, bats, bubbling cauldrons and colourful chocolate sweets for the ultimate Halloween sharing treat.

After skiing at Christmas, dressing up for Valentine's Day and now becoming delightfully two-faced for Halloween, we're starting to think Colin might just be the hardest-working caterpillar in the supermarket world.
