TL;DR: Panini has officially revealed 2026 Mangaverse Football, a new trading card set featuring NFL stars, top college athletes, and gridiron legends illustrated in Japanese manga style. Hobby Boxes are available for preorder soon on Panini’s site, with a guaranteed autograph per box.
If you’re trying to hunt down a holiday gift for the hardcore card collector in your life, you can stop scrolling eBay right now. Panini America just dropped details about 2026 Mangaverse Football, a standalone set that blends top college players, current NFL stars, and all-time legends with Japanese manga and graphic-novel artwork.
Hobby Boxes are available for preorder soon on Panini, while retail options are set to hit Target, Walmart, and Dick’s Sporting Goods ahead of the holidays.
Who is in the set?
Instead of standard action shots, Mangaverse gives gridiron icons like Deion Sanders, Randy Moss, Chad Johnson, Lawrence Taylor, and Michael “Samurai Mike” Singletary the full comic protagonist treatment across a 100-card base set. Collectors can also chase artist-driven inserts like Way of the Warrior, Murals, and Origin Story, alongside a stacked roster of player autographs.
Inside a Hobby Box
If you’re buying for a collector who cares about box hits and low-numbered cards, the Hobby Box is the configuration to grab. Here’s what you get inside:
1 guaranteed autograph per box
3 numbered parallels
6 inserts or insert parallels
6 packs per box (6 cards per pack)
Exclusive SSP chases — The only configuration where you can pull ultra-rare Super Short Print cards like Starcade and Blank Slate
For a more affordable holiday gift, keep an eye out for the Retail Ornament Boxes coming soon to big-box stores. Packaged in a special holiday ornament-style box, each retail pack contains 15 cards — including two retail-exclusive Bronze, Red, or Green parallels, three inserts, and an exclusive Winter Wonderland holiday insert.
Whether you're chasing guaranteed autographs for a high-end collection or grabbing an ornament box for a casual fan, it's one of the coolest crossover drops on the sports card calendar this year. Head over to Panini now to learn more about Mangaverse Football Hobby Box preorders.
