Leeds vs Man Utd betting tips:
- Leeds to win - 7/5 Ladbrokes
- Dominic Calvert-Lewin to score - 8/5 Coral
All eyes will be on Elland Road on Sunday when Manchester United go in search of only their second Premier League win of the season, but face another tough opponent in Leeds United (kick-off 2pm, live on Sky Sports).
Tempers, frustration and disappointment were there for all to see on Tuesday as they were beaten 2-0 by Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
The result in Madrid was their fourth defeat of the season, in just nine matches in all competitions, which has seen the pressure mount on manager Michael Carrick and the board, thanks to post-match comments from Lisandro Martinez.
United’s worst start to the season in 40 years leaves them 13th in the Premier League table with just six points from six games, while Sunday’s opponents Leeds are three points better off and sit 7th, just a point off fourth-placed Brentford.
Football betting sites are now offering as much as 5/2 on United finishing in the top four, behind Brighton & Hove Albion, while Leeds are 12/1.
Leeds to take advantage of United’s woes
Elland Road is not exactly a place you want to go in desperate search of a win, but for United they will probably welcome being away from home after two defeats and a draw at Old Trafford in their last three.
Despite being the away side, though, the pressure will very much be on them at a ground where Leeds are unbeaten so far this season.
In fact, you have to go back to March for the last time Daniel Farke’s side were beaten at home, when Sunderland won 1-0 thanks to a penalty from Habib Diarra.
Last season’s league meeting in Yorkshire finished 1-1 after Matheus Cunha cancelled out Brenden Aaronson’s opening goal.
But Leeds did secure their first win in nine meetings when they won at Old Trafford back in April, after Noah Okafor scored twice in the first half before Martinez was sent off for the home side. They did pull a goal back through Casemiro, but Leeds held on for a rare win in Stretford.
Carrick’s side have won five of their last nine meetings with Leeds and drawn three, and on paper United should have more than enough to take the three points.
However, such is the fragility of confidence in the squad; coupled with a potential divide among the players following Martinez’s outburst, it opens up the door for Leeds.
They are used to being the underdog and defying expectations, and if they play to the same level as they did against Arsenal last week, then there will surely only be one winner.
Ultimately, they lost the match at the Emirates, 2-1, but they outplayed the Gunners for large parts of the game.
United may struggle if Leeds can put in a similar performance and UK betting sites have intriguing odds for a home win.
Leeds vs Man Utd prediction 1: Leeds to win - 7/5 Ladbrokes
Calvert-Lewin to dominate the United defence
Dominic Calvert-Lewin caused havoc for the Arsenal defence last week, particularly in the first half, and if Harry Maguire and co aren’t at the races, then he could have another good afternoon.
His form since joining Leeds from Everton in the summer of 2025 has been excellent, and it’s no surprise he has been recalled to the England squad.
He already has four goals for the season, including two in the 4-1 win over Newcastle United, and online betting apps are offering 8/5 on him scoring at any time on Sunday.
The 29-year-old has scored twice previously against United while playing for Everton, and three of his goals so far this season have come at home, so we’re backing him to net, especially when you consider United have conceded two or more goals five times already this season.
Leeds vs Man Utd prediction 2: Calvert-Lewin to score - 8/5 Coral
