In a significant push towards achieving comprehensive financial inclusion and expanding the reach of social security initiatives in rural areas, Tripura Gramin Bank, in collaboration with the Sepahijala District Administration and the Lead District Manager, organised the Gram Samriddhi Abhiyan at Purba Nalchar Gram Panchayat.
The programme highlighted a coordinated effort to ensure that essential banking and welfare services reach every eligible beneficiary, while also promoting economic empowerment in the countryside.
The event witnessed the presence of several senior officials and dignitaries, including District Magistrate of Sepahijala Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal, IAS, Additional District Magistrate Devdas Debbarma, Nalchar RD Block BDO Suranjit Sarkar, RBI Lead District Officer Aman Podder, Lead District Manager Saikat Nag and Regional Manager of Tripura Gramin Bank, RO South, Payel Saha.
The programme centred on accelerating financial inclusion by facilitating enrolment under various social security schemes and ensuring access to key banking services. Special emphasis was placed on opening new bank accounts, completing re-KYC formalities, Aadhaar seeding and extending credit support to the agriculture and allied sectors.
Through these initiatives, the campaign sought to bring more rural households under the formal banking network while enabling them to benefit from government-backed welfare and financial protection schemes.
Addressing the gathering, District Magistrate Dr. Siddharth Shiv Jaiswal lauded the efforts of Tripura Gramin Bank in advancing financial inclusion and implementing social security programmes across the district. He appreciated the bank’s performance in reaching underserved sections of society and encouraged its officials to continue working with dedication to ensure greater coverage of eligible beneficiaries and deeper penetration of banking services in rural areas.
To enhance accessibility and provide on-the-spot assistance, Tripura Gramin Bank established dedicated service stalls covering a wide range of banking facilities. The stalls attracted enthusiastic participation from local residents, many of whom utilised the opportunity to access banking services, seek guidance on various schemes and complete necessary formalities related to financial inclusion programmes.
The successful conduct of the Gram Samriddhi Abhiyan underscored the strong partnership between the district administration and the banking sector in fostering inclusive growth. By bringing financial services and social security benefits closer to the rural population, the initiative reinforced the shared commitment of the District Administration and Tripura Gramin Bank towards strengthening financial empowerment, enhancing beneficiary outreach and driving sustainable rural economic development.
