The programme, scheduled to run from November 21 to December 12 across seven sessions, is billed as a guide to biblical marriage.
What is Mercy Masika's masterclass about?
Masika promoted it with a caption directed at women who feel marriage does not have to be a source of misery, writing:

"This is for every woman who believes marriage shouldn't be miserable, who wants to get it right and trusts that God's way is best. You'll never regret choosing His design. WhatsApp now for more details."
The announcement, however, did not land the way she may have hoped. Hundreds of women flooded the comments section, many questioning why the burden of improving marriage was being placed solely on wives.
User Joyline Chebet put it plainly:
"Becoming a wife to who? Are the husbands training to be husbands?"
Allyce Margaret Okoth echoed a similar frustration:
"Why is there no class for men to be better husbands."
Others were blunter in their dismissal.
Edith Favoured commented:
"Master class to be a wife? Wacheni jokes," while Being Ireen urged Masika to take stock of the moment: "Read the room. We have so much to deal with."
The pushback was not limited to secular voices. Nyambura Murimi, who identified herself as a committed churchgoer, also distanced herself from the programme, writing:
"I'm a Christian, a churchgoer but hey let's move on to other things now."
The response reflects a growing impatience among many Kenyan women with marriage content that places the full responsibility for a successful union on the woman's shoulders, particularly when it is framed through religion.
