Auburn football is halfway through its first season under head coach Alex Golesh, and suddenly, it feels like a whole new campaign.
The Tigers downed Georgia — the No. 1 team in the country — with a 27-24 victory on Saturday, Oct. 17, at Sanford Stadium. It was a historic feat for the program and Golesh alike, but it was also a performance that seemingly made Auburn's struggles in its first five games moot.
The offense finally looked competent with Byrum Brown running wild, and the defense, sans Xavier Atkins, did enough to halt one of the best scoring offenses in the nation on its home field.
