QR code posters questioning the government found inside a Delhi Metro train; FIR registered
NEW DELHI: An FIR has been registered against unidentified persons after two posters questioning the government's performance were found pasted inside a train on the Delhi Metro's Airport Express Line, news agency PTI reported citing police sources. The posters, printed in black and white on A4-sized sheets, featured phrases such as "Voting Protest", "You Can Change Your Own Life", "Spectrum of Engagement", "Community Building Reform" and "Dissatisfied? You Are Not Alone".They also listed nine claims about changes in the country in recent years and carried a QR code inviting people to join an online group, the sources said.
According to the FIR, the incident came to light on October 20 when Tarun Chaudhary, a Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) train operator deployed on the Airport Express Line, spotted the posters during an inspection.Chaudhary had operated a train from New Delhi station to Yashobhoomi, leaving at around 6.50pm and arriving at approximately 7.15pm. While checking the train from inside the cabin, he noticed the two posters pasted on a seat.He removed the material and alerted his senior officers and the Operations Control Centre. He was subsequently instructed to hand the posters over to the station controller at Dwarka Sector 21, who informed the police. The posters were seized by police on Friday, and the special cell has also joined the investigation.
