PETALING JAYA: The health ministry’s digital MyLapor platform, which went online today, allows the public to anonymously report offences under the Control of Smoking Products for Public Health Act 2024.
Users can lodge complaints via the MySejahtera app, by scanning MyLapor QR codes, or directly through the website, with reports channelled to the nearest district health office.
"This enables faster, more accurate and effective enforcement action to be taken without going through a long reporting process. MyLapor will also notify complainants of the status of their complaints via the MySejahtera app.
"MyLapor will allow the public to report offences without having to directly confront offenders," it said in a statement today.
The ministry said MyLapor’s digital management system would help track reports, identify high-priority locations and plan enforcement more effectively.
It encouraged business owners to enforce the smoking ban and display MyLapor QR codes prominently on their premises.
