Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, said in his message on the International Day of the Girl Child that Pakistan’s daughters are blessed with boundless talent, courage, and dreams.
He said the historic political journey of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto is shining proof that when women are provided with equal opportunity to move forward, they can not only change their own lives but alter the course of a nation’s history.

PPP Chairman said empowering girls is essential to building a strong, prosperous and just society. The state, families, educational institutions and society as a whole must work together to create an environment where a daughter is seen not as a burden, but as a symbol of hope and a bright future.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that, guided by the democratic and egalitarian vision of Quaid-e-Awam Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, the PPP has taken numerous steps for the welfare of women in the country.
He said programs such as the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Waseela-e-Taleem and education scholarships are aimed at supporting deserving families and encouraging children’s education.
Various initiatives in the province of Sindh for girls’ education, women’s rights and social protection are part of the same commitment: that poverty should never stand in the way of a girl’s future.
Bilawal said his vision is a Pakistan where every girl has access to education, healthcare and protection, safety from violence and exploitation, and equal opportunities to realize her potential.
He concluded that investing in girls’ education and well-being is, in truth, an investment in the bright future of Pakistan’s coming generations.

World Girl Child Day observed
The International Day of the Girl Child is observed worldwide on October 11 every year to highlight the rights, challenges and potential of girls and to promote equal opportunities for their education, health, safety and empowerment.
The day serves as a reminder that every girl deserves access to quality education, healthcare, protection from violence and discrimination, and equal opportunities to participate in social, economic and political life.
Despite progress in promoting girls’ rights, millions of girls around the world continue to face challenges, including child marriage, gender-based violence, poverty, school dropouts and limited access to healthcare.
On this occasion, governments, civil society organisations and human rights advocates renew their commitment to creating a safe, inclusive and supportive environment for girls.
Empowering girls through education, skills development and equal opportunities is essential for building a more just, peaceful and prosperous society. Protecting their rights and ensuring their meaningful participation in decision-making remain crucial to achieving gender equality and sustainable development.
