Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game Patch 3.0 adds 16-player open lobbies with spectating, an Ozai rework, and Story Mode changes. Here is what is new in the update.
Gameplay Group International and publisher PM Studios released Patch 3.0 for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game on October 7. The update adds open lobbies with spectating and reworks Ozai. It reached Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox first, with the Nintendo Switch update to follow.
Open lobbies and spectating
Private Lobbies are now Open Lobbies that host 2 to 16 players, set to public or invite-only. Hosts choose a 60-second or infinite round timer and a win limit from first-to-1 through first-to-10 or allow infinite rematches. Hosts create game sessions for others to join, and joining a full session lets you spectate with rewind and fast-forward controls.
Players can view profiles, send friend requests, and hide lobby codes when streaming. Hosts can kick or ban players. The lobby browser shows capacity, host name, country, round time, and win limit, and codes allow cross-platform joining. Queuing and winner-stays-on settings are planned for a future update.
Ozai rework and balance changes
Ozai gets a fully animated look, and the patch keeps his 1990s music video slide as a nod to fans. His balance changes are extensive. The 5AA and 5C normals deal 10 less damage, jB deals 5 less, and 214X deals 20 more damage when unboosted. Three new Critical Hits arrive: Unyielding, Chosen Moment, and Tyrant’s Gambit. His Imperial Firebender and Admiral Zhao's support are also returned, and Admiral Zhao’s 214X maximum Boosted damage drops from 320 to 301. New trials and tutorials were added.
Other fixes and story mode changes
Flow bonus regeneration no longer applies during hitstun or blockstun, which affects Kyoshi and Ozai. Toph’s instant fast-fall tech now costs a third of the Flow gauge. Ba Sing Se gains new background characters, including the Freedom Fighters, Bosco, and the King. Zuko and Katara receive updated Final Technique animations, and Korra loses the Helix effect from hers.
The patch also fixes a netplay rollback issue for Azula and a relay problem that degraded lobby connection quality. Hitstop and projectile reaction freezes were also fixed across several characters. Story Mode now starts with easier CPU opponents that scale with progress. The first seven fights grant major buffs, including automatic life recovery, and popups explain move inputs and boost damage. Challenges were removed temporarily for a future rework.
