Kuki underground cadres found missing from their designated camps amidst the prevailing situation clearly indicates the failure of the Government of lndia and the State Government in monitoring the SoO cadres and their movement, said Former & Senior Leaders' Forum.
While the cadres found missing from their designated camp is in complete violation of SoO ground rules and must be dealt with very seriously, they must be traced immediately to prevent unwanted and anti-social activities in the region, said the forum in a statement.
On the arrests of three persons in the case of killing of three Meitei civilians, the forum noted that the security forces have failed to disclose the respective rank and position of the 3 arrested cadres in the KNF(N), raising doubt and suspicion in the minds of the public.
"More suspicion arises regarding the identity of those 17 persons whom the security forces claim are not cadres of the underground group but picked up from the designated Sinai Camp of Kuki Liberation Army/Kuki National Organisation (KLA/KNO) located at Semol village near Saikul. Whether those persons present at the Kuki underground designated Sinai Camp are Indian citizens or not is a big question to ponder," it said.
Further, the security forces not disclosing the total numbers of cadres at designated camps and the number of cadres found missing from the camps indicates that there is a hesitation on the part of Govt to make known to people the actual position of the designated camps, it said.
The Zeliangrog community's Former and Senior Leaders' Forum hails the swift action of the joint security forces in arresting the Kuki underground cadres who are involved in the killing of 3 Meitei Nongsum civilians. However, the security forces' inaction and inability to nab those Kuki underground cadres who are involved in the killing of innocent Zeliangrong Nagas particularly villagers from Konsaram which is very near to Leimakhong Army Headquarter and also close to Imphal city even after identifying the culprits by way of First Information Reports (FIRs) is something which the people are silently observing, it added, questioning the manner in which the Government is discharging its responsibilities.
