International fighters from Australia and New Zealand have arrived in Rarotonga ahead of the Pacific Combat Fight Series 2026 at the National Sports Arena in Nikao tonight.
The Australian team arrived on Wednesday and was pleased to meet students at Nukutere College, who had the opportunity to hear about the fighters’ journeys into combat sports and learn about the discipline required to compete.
Yesterday, the New Zealand contingent met with Tereora College students.
The official weigh-in was also held yesterday, completing preparations for the three-nation fight night.
Among the evening’s headline bouts is undefeated Cook Islands K1 kickboxer Scholar Ngatokorua, representing Avatiu Kickboxing Club, who will face New Zealand’s Leone Pettifer of Evolution Muay Thai.
The fight card will feature athletes competing in kickboxing, Muay Thai, boxing and submission grappling, offering local supporters a range of combat sports under one roof.
While the visiting fighters have spent time meeting the community, local athletes will enter the arena in front of their families, clubs and supporters, representing the Cook Islands against international opposition. Months of training and preparation will culminate in one night of competition.
Doors open at 4pm, with the first fights starting at 5pm. The event is alcohol-free and family-friendly, with children aged 11 and under admitted free.
Early bird ticket sales close today. Youth tickets for ages 12–17 cost $20, while adult general admission tickets cost $40. Tickets purchased at the door will cost $30 for youth and $50 for adults. Ringside seating is available for $80, with limited seats close to the action.
