The Arizona Cardinals could be without one of their most promising offensive weapons for another week.
Rookie running back Jeremiyah Love is expected to miss Sunday's matchup against the Denver Broncos as he continues recovering from an ankle injury, according to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz.
Love already missed Arizona's Week 6 victory over the Los Angeles Rams, and the latest report suggests the Cardinals could be forced to play without their starting running back for a second consecutive game.
The former Notre Dame standout did not participate in Wednesday's practice, raising further concerns about his availability heading into Week 7.
Love has been dealing with an ankle injury that initially surfaced following Arizona's Week 4 matchup against the New York Giants. Although he returned to action against the Detroit Lions in Week 5, the rookie struggled to find his rhythm, finishing with just 22 rushing yards on 12 carries.
Arizona held Love out of last week's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams, giving the rookie additional time to recover from his ankle injury.
Before being sidelined, Love had rushed for 245 yards and one touchdown on 67 carries through five games. He also contributed 11 receptions for 36 yards and another touchdown. Arizona selected Love with the third overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, making him the highest-drafted running back since Saquon Barkley went second overall in 2018.
The Cardinals entered the season with high expectations for the former Fighting Irish star, who established himself as one of college football's most explosive offensive players.
Now, his early NFL career has been interrupted by injuries.
With Love expected to remain sidelined, Arizona could once again turn to Tyler Allgeier and Bam Knight to handle the rushing responsibilities.
The Cardinals leaned on their running back depth during last week's victory, but facing Denver presents another challenge for an offense attempting to establish consistency.

For Love, the priority remains getting healthy enough to return without risking another setback.
The Cardinals have invested heavily in the rookie's long-term future, and his availability will be an important storyline as the season progresses.
While Arizona has not officially ruled him out for Sunday, the latest report suggests the team may need to prepare for another game without one of its most important young offensive players.
