The Awele Ilusanmi Foundation, founded by Awele Ilusanmi with a noble vision of ‘Nourishing Minds, Building Futures’, has graciously offered all-encompassing support beyond scholarship awards, beginning with the first two recipients in the series. The beneficiaries are two undergraduates who are members of ‘Authors’ Hub’ founded by Mallam Sumaila Umaisha.
One of the awardees is Oyelade Adeyemi Testimony, a student of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti, Faculty of Computer and Information Engineering, Department of Information Communication Engineering, currently in his 200 level. He got an annual scholarship of N150,000 to last his remaining years at the University.
The second is Celina Chinwemmeri Ikechukwu, a student of the University of Benin in Edo State, Faculty of Life Sciences, Department of Optometry, currently in her 400 level. Her annual scholarship award of N100,000 will cover her education for the remaining three years of her Doctor of Optometry programme, providing continuous support throughout this period. In addition, each of the awardees received some mouth-watering packages, including monthly foodstuffs and provisions, welfare pocket money, as well as monthly data support.
According to Ilusanmi, the world-acclaimed “Queen of Books” who was inspired by people seeing possibilities through books, the Foundation believes that supporting students means caring not only about their education, but also about their wellbeing and the everyday needs that help them stay focused on their studies.
This marks a significant step in the Foundation’s effort to broaden educational opportunities and support students in pursuing their academic goals.
The Foundation, which offers the scholarships with the guidance of members of the Board of Trustees, strongly
believes that access to education can open doors to new opportunities, and through initiatives like this, it continues to invest in young people and their futures.
In response, one of the recipients, Oyelade Testimony, expressed his gratitude: “I sincerely want to express my deepest appreciation to The Awele Ilusanmi Foundation for fulfilling its promises to me.
“I have received my school fees payment, monthly subscription, foodstuffs, and monthly upkeep support, just as promised. I am truly grateful for this incredible show of love, kindness, and support.
Words cannot fully express how much this means to me. Your support has brought relief, encouragement, and renewed hope to me, and I do not take it for granted.”
