The Republic Election Commission (RIK) rejected a voter complaint over polling stations outside Serbia.
The complaint said that polling stations abroad for the October 25 parliamentary elections are inaccessible because of their distance from voters' places of residence.
RIK member and rapporteur Ivan Djordjevic said the commission was required to ensure polling stations were accessible to people with disabilities, but that this did not mean they had to be close to voters' homes. He dismissed claims of discrimination.
RIK member Sofija Mandic argued that Serbian citizens abroad would have to travel long distances to vote, making access to polling stations a serious problem. She called on the Foreign Ministry to revise its decision on diaspora voting locations.
