Yesterday (Oct. 17) was the Academy Museum Gala in Los Angeles, a big swanky event that celebrates cinema and also raises funds for the Academy Museum Of Motion Pictures to continue putting on events, exhibitions, "and remain accessible to visitors of all ages." Last night's event specifically honored John Carpenter, Colman Domingo, and Charlize Theron. Many musicians were in attendance as well, including Taylor Swift who performed a four-song set.
Even though on Friday, Swift released alternate versions of "Patient Zero," America's current #1 song, her performance consisted of bigger hits. She performed "Blank Space," followed by the live debut of "The Fate Of Ophelia," and then "I Knew It, I Knew You," the song she penned for Toy Story 5, and "Love Story."
She was introduced by Conan O'Brien, who voiced the character Smarty Pants, a potty training toy, in Toy Story 5. He compared her to all of the Beatles combined: "It’s an insane, unprecedented honor to introduce a cherished member of our little Toy Story 5 family. She’s John, Paul, George and Ringo all in one. Taylor Swift."
Later, Swift posed for photos with Sabrina Carpenter and Cara Delevingne. Other musicians who made an appearance at the red carpet event included: Teyana Taylor, A$AP Rocky, Tinashe, Rosé, Janelle Monáe, Clairo, Maya Hawke, Camila Cabello, Jennifer Hudson, and Common.
