While there’s a unique satisfaction in finding a perfume you love to call your signature scent, certain fragrances can be far more compelling for particular seasons. Bright, vibrant fragrances cut through the sultry heat in summer, but in autumn, the colder, darker days often call for comfort.
From the sweetness of vanilla, the richness of amber or the smokiness of musk, some of the best autumn fragrances have a sense of enveloping, with a distinct warmth, richness and depth. Equally, you might simply want a fragrance with uplifting, fresh top notes that settles into something deeper.
Beyond the scent itself, a new perfume offers a dose of indulgence that goes a long way this time of year. There’s no denying fragrances are expensive, but John Lewis, which is home to the likes of Tom Ford, Estée Lauder, Kilian Paris and Frederic Malle, is offering £10 off fragrances priced at £65, £20 off £100 perfumes, and £30 off perfumes costing £150.
These are the autumnal perfumes that are sure to get you compliments this season.
