Secretary-General of ASEAN, Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, on 23 October 2026, met with the Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, H.E. Fujii Hisayuki, in Tokyo, Japan. The two sides exchanged views to strengthen practical cooperation, particularly through capacity-building and exchanges on the responsible use of AI, cybersecurity, digital infrastructure as well as trusted data flows, which could contribute meaningfully to the shared efforts in advancing ASEAN-Japan digital cooperation.
