Terver Shirsha Atsar has launched a major voter mobilisation drive across Kwande/Ushongo Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general election, urging eligible voters to collect their PVCs and embrace peaceful participation.
The drive, under the Atsar Civic Awareness for a Peaceful and Credible Election, is anchored on the theme, “Your PVC, Your Voice, Your Future — Let Your Vote Count!”
Speaking on behalf of the campaign, spokesperson Winifred Iorsoo said the time for preparation is now as INEC commenced PVC distribution on Friday, October 9, 2026.
“The 2027 elections may still be ahead, but the responsibility to prepare begins today. Every eligible voter in Kwande and Ushongo must go and collect their PVC,” Iorsoo said.
She warned against voter apathy and last-minute preparations, urging residents to visit their designated INEC centres to collect their cards and verify their details.
Iorsoo said the campaign is prioritising youth participation, calling on young people not to allow indifference or political manipulation to deny them a voice.
“Do not merely complain about the future; participate peacefully in shaping it. Be ambassadors of peace and encourage your peers to collect their PVCs,” she stated.
She also called on women, farmers, traders, artisans, civil servants, traditional rulers, religious leaders and community organisations to intensify voter education at the grassroots.
On electoral integrity, Iorsoo issued a strong appeal for peace, urging political actors and supporters to reject vote-buying, hate speech, misinformation and intimidation.
“Political offices are temporary, but our relationships as members of the same communities endure. No political ambition is worth the loss of a life, the destruction of property or the disruption of peace,” Iorsoo warned.
She stressed that every eligible citizen must be allowed to vote freely without coercion and in accordance with the law.
“Collect your PVC. Protect your vote. Reject violence. Choose peace. Build our future together. Our PVC, our voice. Our peace, our future,” Iorsoo added.
