Prophet Benny Hinn Arrives In Pretoria Ahead Of Union Buildings Healing Crusade
International televangelist Pastor Benny Hinn has arrived in South Africa ahead of a three-day healing crusade scheduled to take place at the Union Buildings in Pretoria from 23 to 25 October 2026.
Hinn confirmed his arrival in a social media post, thanking South Africans for the warm welcome and directing supporters to the upcoming event.
The Healing the Nations crusade is scheduled to take place daily, with arrivals from 14:00 and the main programme starting at 18:00. The event is free and open to the public.
Organisers expect large crowds, including visitors from across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. The programme is expected to include worship, teaching, prayer and healing.
The choice of the Union Buildings, which house the seat of the South African presidency, has also drawn attention. Organisers have described the gathering as the first Christian event of its kind to be held at the venue.
Hinn has previously hosted crusades in several African countries, including Uganda, Ethiopia and Zimbabwe.
Former Johannesburg mayor Mpho Phalatse is among the public figures who have supported the local event.
However, Hinn’s visit has also attracted criticism. Some commentators and social media users have raised concerns about his faith-healing claims, prosperity teachings and financial practices.
Critics have also pointed to past investigations into his ministry, public criticism from family members and Hinn’s own previous statements about inaccuracies in his prophecies and his views on the prosperity gospel.
The crusade is scheduled to run from Friday, 23 October, to Sunday, 25 October.
