Heavy rain results in anticlimactic end to thrilling T20I India-West Indies series
২১/১০/২০২৬

The exciting T20I series between India and the West Indies ended on a disappointing note recently, as the fifth and deciding match was abandoned without a result.
Heavy rainfall delayed the start by more than two hours, and after the covers were removed, the match was shortened to just nine overs per side.
India’s batting lineup made the most of the opportunity with a solid start, scoring 118 for five in just 7.4 overs before persistent rain forced the players and officials off the field.
With the showers continuing beyond the scheduled cutoff time, the fifth T20I was eventually abandoned without a result.
The washout meant the five-match series ended in a 2-2 draw, leaving thousands of fans at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru, India, disappointed as rain prevented them from witnessing what promised to be a thrilling finish.
After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, the West Indies conceded 14 runs in Keemo Paul’s opening over, although he dismissed Abhishek Sharma, who was caught at midwicket by Shamar Joseph.
Ishan Kishan then attacked Romario Shepherd, opening the second over with a massive six over backward square before striking another six and two boundaries.
However, his explosive innings of 30 off just 10 balls ended when he mistimed a pull shot off Shamar Joseph and was caught at mid-on, leaving India at 45 for two in the third over.
India captain Shreyas Iyer managed 22 from 14 deliveries, while Naman Dhir’s explosive unbeaten 24 off just six balls, including three sixes and a four, helped keep the scoring rate above 15 runs per over.
Shamar Springer dismissed Tilak Varma, who dragged a wide yorker onto his stumps, with that delivery turning out to be the final ball of the match as light drizzle quickly developed into heavy rain.
Springer finished with figures of 2-17, while Keemo Paul claimed 2-34.
