The following article contains spoilers from the episode of Emmerdale dated October 23. It hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX and YouTube.
DS Thea Ramsden (Chelsea Edge) has located Baby Tate in Emmerdale as part of her revenge against Kim Tate (Claire King).
Thea reached the conclusion recently that biological mum Kim and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) are planning on selling Baby Tate. There isn’t a lot of evidence to back up her theory, but Thea thinks that Kim is giving another baby away because that’s exactly what happened after she was born.
The resentment Thea feels towards Kim is clouding her judgement, because we know that Kim and Graham are hiding Baby Tate because they don’t want Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) to find out that they went against his wishes to have his son adopted.
Graham and Kim’s plan has been created with Joe and Baby Tate’s best interests at heart – but Thea hasn’t actually considered that.
Earlier this week, Thea got a social worker to approach Kim with the claim that Baby Tate was in the process of being illegally adopted. Kim simply explained the reality to the social worker, who walked away satisfied that she hadn’t been lied to.

Due to confidentiality, the social worker refused to tell Thea where Baby Tate was, which annoyed her a great deal.
Forced to do her own dirty work (the horror), Thea managed to source some texts between Kim and Graham today, and believed this was proof that Baby Tate was about to be sold.
The location of the cottage found, Thea made her way over. Instead of being like a normal person and knocking on the front door, she loomed outside, staring through a window.
In upcoming episodes, Kim and Graham face a fresh nightmare when it becomes clear that Baby Tate has been kidnapped.
The kidnapper makes themselves known by sending ransom demands via a tablet, getting creepy by putting family photos in the cottage. Graham complies with the kidnapper’s demands and heads to meet them.
But then it dawns on Kim – Thea was gunning for her after the crash that killed Dawn (Olivia Bromley). She wanted her sent down. But then recently flipped into being helpful, preventing Kim from being arrested due to dangerous driving. Why is she suddenly being so kind?
Kim knows why – Thea is the kidnapper. She pressures her to confess and Thea snaps, leaving Kim fearful for her life.
As she goes to flee, she grabs a knife in self defence and stabs Thea…
