There are strong indications that the All Progressives Congress (APC) crisis in Katsina state has deepened as major stakeholders continue to distance themselves from the activities of Governor Dikko Umar Radda.
The crisis started early this year with the removal of former Minister of Housing, Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, from the ministerial position and subsequent appointment of Muttaqa Rabe Darma as replacement.
The burden of the crisis was allegedly put on the shoulder of the special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Political Matters, Hon Ibrahim Kabir Masari over his reported open choice of Darma as replacement for Dangiwa.
Blueprint.ng gathered that, for the past five months, both Masari, Darma, 25 federal government appointees from Katsina state, including Radda’s former chief of staff, Hon. Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri, who was appointed as national coordinator and chief executive officer of AUDA-NEPAD, has stopped attending activities orgarnised by the state government.
It was also gathered that within the last two weeks, seven loyalists to the special political adviser, resigned from their various political appointments in Governor Radda’s administration, while remaining in Masari camp.
Those that resigned included two special advisers, Chairman State Pilgrims Welfare Board, General Manager, Erosion Control, state commander, Hisbah Board and his deputy, as well as some members of the state assembly who were defeated in the recent APC primaries.
The official visit of Vice President Kashim Shettima to Katsina state last week put a big question mark on the unusual absence of both the minister, the political adviser and his partners on the federal government appointees.
Their shunning of Tinubu/Dikko 2027 Campaign Council inauguration over the weekend in Katsina also gave deep meaning to their separation from Radda.
An APC stalwart in a chart with Blueprint.ng in Katsina shortly after the campaign council inauguration anonymously said, both the housing minister Darma, the political adviser Masari, AUDA-NEPAD national coordinator, Jabiru Tsauri, and Hadiza Bala Usman Special Adviser to President on Projects monitoring turned down their invitations and their inclusion into Radda’s campaign council.
