Many people will always remember the game at Woodmore in Week 10.
That doesn't mean they were able to see it. A fog settled over the field and didn't dissipate as the Wildcats topped visiting Gibsonburg 45-14 to cap an unbeaten regular season with an outright championship in the Sandusky Bay Conference Friday, Oct. 23.
Woodmore last won a conference crown in 1997 and was also 10-0 in 1995. The Wildcats won nine combined games in the 10 years before coach Scott Stecher's arrival three years ago.
"It's like a blanket over us," Stecher said. "Like our own snow globe. This will be a happy moment (to remember) for the rest of their lives for them to relive."

Lucas Caldwell raced 79 yards for a touchdown and 20-8 lead late in the third quarter. He ran in from 44 yards in the second quarter.
"It's crazy; it's been so long," Caldwell said. "The program was at the bottom of the barrel — it feels so special. It's most special because I did it with the guys I love the most. This is family. It's so special to do it with these guys.
Wesley Kayser caught two touchdown passes and intercepted two throws on defense, including one he returned for a Woodmore score. Luke Karshner returned a fumble 37 yards for a touchdown and Ish Nagy scored from 50 yards out.
Venerable Woodmore announcer Dave Robenstine exclaimed, "Touchdown by 'somebody.'" Earlier, an incomplete pass was thrown to 'somebody' in the fog.
Caldwell and quarterback Calvin Lipstraw were also active on defense, with at least two tackles for a loss each.
"I would already remember this for the rest of my life," Caldwell said. "Now, the way the fog showed up — every time I see fog, I'm going to think of this game."
You had to be there to see it. If you were lucky.
