JOHOR BARU: Malaysia Airlines has rescheduled its direct flight from Senai International Airport to Jeddah scheduled for tomorrow amid reported security concerns affecting air travel in Saudi Arabia.
In a notice circulating on social media, the airline said flight MH154, scheduled to depart at 2.50pm on Oct 13 for King Abdulaziz International Airport, had been rescheduled.
It said alternative arrangements for standard operational cancellations would be provided within three hours, while options in extraordinary circumstances would be communicated once confirmed.
Passengers were advised not to proceed to the airport until they received confirmation of their new flight arrangements.
The rescheduling comes amid reports of flight disruptions in Saudi Arabia following a series of attacks on airports, particularly in Riyadh.
Saudi authorities have reported deadly attacks attributed to Yemen's Houthis, including a strike on Riyadh airport on Saturday that reportedly killed 12 people and injured more than 300.
The disruptions have also affected religious travel, with Umrah pilgrims among those facing flight cancellations and delays.
Passengers travelling to Saudi Arabia are advised to check their flight status and rebooking arrangements directly with their airlines before leaving for the airport.
The New Straits Times has contacted Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG), the parent company of Malaysia Airlines, for comment. No response had been received at press time.
