GH¢6.71 Billion Paid in Benefits
Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Deputy Director-General in charge of Finance and Operations, Dr. Bernardette Naa Hoffman, the General Manager of Benefits at SSNIT, Frank Molbila, disclosed that as of September 2026, the Trust had paid a total of GH¢6.71 billion in benefits.
“These payments cover monthly pensions, invalidity pensions, survivors’ benefits and emigration benefits,” Mr. Molbila stated.
He further highlighted the Trust’s efficiency in pension processing, adding: “SSNIT currently processes and pays pensions within seven working days.”
Focus on the Informal Sector
A key focus of this year’s Mobile Service Week is encouraging self-employed persons, including traders, artisans, drivers, farmers, and various informal sector workers, to enrol on the SSNIT Scheme, contribute regularly, and secure retirement income when due.
The event also seeks to encourage workers to adopt and actively use SSNIT’s digital platforms, including the SSNIT Mobile App, to access services and transact business with the Trust with ease.
The initiative underscores SSNIT’s commitment to leveraging digital platforms to improve service delivery, enhance accessibility, and make pension services more convenient for members.
Recent Innovations Improving Member Experience
The keynote address also drew attention to some of the Trust’s recently introduced initiatives aimed at improving member experience and service delivery. These include:
. Co-location – bringing multiple services under one roof for convenience
· Member Value Programme (MVP) – offering added benefits to members
· Telehealth – providing health support services to members
· Virtual Branch – enabling members to access services online
Mr. Molbila noted that these initiatives “reflect SSNIT’s continued efforts to improve access to services, expand member support and harness technology to deliver more efficient and convenient pension services.”
Dignitaries Graced the Occasion
The launch was attended by key dignitaries, including the Bono East Regional Minister, Francis Owusu Antwi, as Special Guest of Honour. The Paramount Chief of Techiman Traditional Area, Oseadeeyo Akumfi Ameyaw IV, was represented by Oheneba Nana Owusu Antwi Boasiako II, Chief of Kenten and the Debehene of Techiman Traditional Area.

In his remarks, the Bono East Regional Minister noted that the initiative is particularly relevant to the people of the region, where agriculture, commerce, and small businesses drive the local economy.
“This programme provides important opportunities for pensioners and strengthens retirement benefits for workers and pensioners across the area and the country,” Mr. Owusu Antwi stated.
Beneficiaries Share Their Stories
The human impact of the SSNIT Scheme was made tangible during the event when three beneficiaries comprising two invalidity pensioners and one survivor beneficiary shared their positive experiences and testified to the Scheme’s impact on their lives.
They praised SSNIT for its commitment and swift action in ensuring they receive their pension payments on time.
Securing the Future of Every Ghanaian Worker
With GH¢6.71 billion paid in benefits, pensions processed within seven working days, and a strong push towards digital transformation, SSNIT is demonstrating that it is not just a pension scheme, but a reliable partner in securing the future of every Ghanaian worker.
The 2026 Mobile Service Week is a clear testament to the Trust’s commitment to leaving no one behind, whether in the bustling markets of Techiman or the remote farming communities across the country.
