Heavy rain triggered flash floods in Subang and nearby areas, with social media users sharing videos of waterlogged roads and traffic congestion.
PETALING JAYA: Several areas around Subang Jaya, Subang Bestari, Kota Damansara and Ara Damansara were hit by flash floods following continuous heavy rain this evening.
Social media users shared posts showing rapidly rising water levels along several roads, bringing traffic to a standstill as some motorists and motorcyclists hesitated to cross flooded stretches.
A video shared in a Threads post showed road users making their way through floodwaters earlier this evening.
“The rain is too heavy in Subang to the point that it has flooded. With rain like this, might as well sit at home, but I have to leave for work,” the post read.
Another Threads user advised motorists and motorcyclists to avoid the Subang Airport area due to flash floods.
As other users reported being caught in traffic congestion caused by the flooding, some pointed out that roads in the area were prone to flash floods and called on the local council to consider road improvements to prevent similar incidents.
Another Threads post reported flash floods in Subang Bestari, with videos showing cars moving slowly through waterlogged roads.
According to the post, affected areas included roads near the Land Office and the Malaysian Rubber Board Research Station, as well as routes leading towards the Damansara-Shah Alam Expressway.
