Gabby Williams was among the many fans present at the Golden State Warriors’ open practice on Sunday, October 18 at Chase Center.
The Golden State Valkyries star had led her team to a win in Game 1 of the WNBA Finals just a day before at Chase Center, which is called the Ballhalla when the Valkyries play.
Williams scored 26 points, 16 of which came in the second quarter. With the Atlanta Dream keeping the game close until the very end, the Valkyries needed Williams to make clutch free throws to secure their win. She showed great composure and made the last two shots from the charity stripe with 4 seconds left to play, leading to a 68-64 win for the home team.
With the next game scheduled on Monday, Williams decided to wind down a little and stay close to the court to keep herself motivated.
Gabby Williams shows up at Golden State Warriors open practice
Sitting in the front row to see the Warriors practice, Williams was greeted by veteran Gary Payton II.
The Warriors players have been extremely supportive of the Valkyries, with a few even going to Game 1 and cheering for the players.
With the Warriors expected to start their season only on Thursday, players on the team could return the favour once again and support Williams and her teammates for Game 2.
The team will once again hope for a big performance from Williams, as she is the player who helps get the best out of her teammates. While she went on to score 26 in Game 1, no other player added double figures, which shows that the team is reliant on her to produce on the offensive end while being the anchor on defence.
Williams has had no problem fulfilling this role for the team and with a packed Ballhalla Arena cheering on for her, she will certainly take the task of helping the Valkyries to a 2-0 lead seriously.
