The Telangana Standards Authority for Food and Essential Drugs (TG SAFE) has seized 3.6 tonnes of khoya (milk solids) being transported to Hyderabad by buses, during inspections of six dairy product manufacturing units and a transport location in the city’s vicinity on Thursday (October 15, 2026).
The enforcement operation began at 5 a.m. and revealed unhygienic manufacturing practices, operation of dairy units without licences from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), and improper storage of dairy products, officials said.
They also found that dairy products were being transported to Hyderabad in plastic covers through buses and other heavy vehicles instead of refrigerated vehicles or cold-storage containers required to maintain appropriate temperatures. Following the inspections, some dairy units were shut down, while show-cause notices and improvement notices were issued to other establishments for the violations observed.
