His dismissal came a few days after announcing he would challenge his boss, Governor Johnson Sakaja, for the Nairobi governorship in the 2027 General Election.
The decision was communicated through Nairobi County Secretary and Head of Public Service Dr. Machel Waikenda, who named Zipporah Mwangi as acting replacement.
How Mosiria's Political Ambition Triggered His Exit
Mosiria had made his gubernatorial ambitions public on October 11 during a visit by Jubilee leaders to Bishop Margaret Wanjiru's Jesus Is Alive Ministries Church in Nairobi.

At the event, he not only declared his interest in the seat but went further by floating the idea of Wanjiru serving as his running mate.
Mosiria, who adopted the nickname "Mr Fix-it," had built a public profile around championing children in distress and advocating for the girl child, earning goodwill from many Kenyans online. His supporters were quick to frame the dismissal as a political move rather than a performance-related decision.
Mixed Reactions as Kenyans Weigh In
The news drew a wave of responses across social media, with opinions split between sympathy and caution.
Eric Ndemange:
"One thing I love about people of my generation is their charisma, zeal, determination, and ability to stand up for their rights while staying focused. Good job, bro, Now Join Babu Owino to make Nairobi the place to be."
Venon Ogechi:
"Do not worry, Nairobi will elect a performer not a joker."
Lameck Obare:
"You did well Mosiria. Now it is time to see true friends. Don't attack my forever SONU chair. Mend ways and you will forever be in any government."
Yegon Surgeon:
"Ni uchungu sana. Once given an opportunity somewhere, I better shut my mouth than to loose mah jab."
Wah Muhoro:
"48 Laws of power by Robert Greene. Law 1: Never Outshine the Master."
The range of reactions captures a debate familiar to many Kenyan public servants: whether ambition expressed too openly within the system carries an inevitable cost.
