Bermudian Jasmine Spence’s campaign at the World Minifootball Federation Women’s World Cup in Croatia began with a 3-0 defeat by the host nation.
Spence, who plays for English non-league side Newport Pagnell Town, is part of England’s 17-member squad for the six-a-side tournament in Mali Losinj.
The format features six players per team — five outfield players and a goalkeeper — with rolling substitutions.
Matches include group and knockout stages and are played on a smaller pitch with smaller goals.
“Our very own Jasmine Spence has been selected to represent England at the World Mini-football Federation Women’s World Cup in Croatia,” Newport Pagnell Town said on social media.
The club added: “We are incredibly proud to have Jasmine as part of our Swans family and will be cheering her and her team-mates on all the way through the competition.”
