Earnings from advance bookings for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana: Part One have crossed Rs 10 crore, with over two lakh tickets sold within five days of opening, as per trade reports.
According to industry data tracking portal Sacnilk, the film has earned Rs 11.11 crore gross in pre-sales (Rs 8.89 crore without blocked seats).
Premium formats, particularly IMAX, drive pre-release demand ahead of the film’s November 5 release. Bookings for the film, which opened on Dussehra, 15 days ahead of its release, have gathered pace, with several shows across the country already selling out.
According to Sacnilk, four shows, including two in Telugu and two in Hindi, have already recorded full occupancy.
The Hindi version continues to dominate advance sales, accounting for around 87 per cent of the total collections. Maharashtra leads among states in pre-sales with Rs 2.44 crore gross collection, followed by Delhi (Rs 2.24 crore gross) and Karnataka (Rs 1.71 crore gross).
Premium formats, including IMAX and 4DX, have emerged as key drivers of advance bookings for the film. IMAX screenings account for just 3.8 per cent of the total shows across India but have contributed nearly 25 per cent of the advance booking collections so far.
Regular screenings have sold around 1.5 lakh tickets across more than 4,100 shows, averaging approximately 35 tickets per screening, according to Sacnilk.
In comparison, IMAX screenings have sold more than 23,000 tickets across 140 shows, averaging around 170 tickets per screening, nearly five times the rate recorded by regular shows.
The strong performance comes despite a significantly higher average ticket price of Rs 1,095 for IMAX screenings, compared with Rs 380 for regular shows.
Other premium formats, including 4DX, ICE and Dolby Cine, have collectively sold more than 12,000 tickets across languages.
Produced by Namit Malhotra’s Prime Focus Studios in collaboration with DNEG and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations, Ramayana is planned as a two-part saga. The first instalment is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 5, while the second part is slated to arrive during Diwali 2027.

Oscar winners Hans Zimmer and A.R. Rahman have composed the music for the film.
