Higher secondary students of Rincho Academy completed a four-day camping and traditional craft learning programme at Nzü Phenshunyü in Tseminyu district from October 17 to 20.
The programme aimed to take learning beyond the classroom by helping students develop cultural appreciation, biodiversity awareness and practical craft skills while connecting their classroom knowledge with real-life experiences. It also encouraged students to take a break from electronic gadgets and screens.
During the camp, students learned basic jungle survival skills, explored Naga history and were introduced to the importance of teamwork and respect for the environment.
They also interacted with local craftspeople and learned traditional craft skills through hands-on sessions, gaining insights into indigenous knowledge and practices.
The programme was supervised by faculty members, with local craftspeople guiding the practical sessions and a doctor available throughout the camp to attend to medical needs.
