The Dera Ismail Khan administration has imposed Section 144 across the district, banning pillion riding, public gatherings and rallies until November 11. The restrictions aim to address law and order concerns and maintain public safety. Deputy Commissioner Hikmatullah issued the order on October 13, and it took immediate effect.

Under the order, authorities have prohibited public meetings, processions and rallies that could disturb public order, disrupt traffic or obstruct citizens’ movement. The administration has also banned the display of weapons and the installation of tents or temporary structures on public roads. Officials said the measures were necessary due to the prevailing security situation.
The district administration warned that anyone violating the restrictions would face legal action under Section 188 of the Pakistan Penal Code. The restrictions will remain in force until November 11 unless the competent authority withdraws or modifies the order earlier.
Section 144 empowers local authorities to restrict activities that could threaten public peace and security. These measures can include bans on public gatherings, rallies, processions and the open display of weapons. The provision remains in effect in several parts of Pakistan.
