The ministry is continuing communications to establish the reasons and circumstances behind Wednesday’s restrictions. The sources did not specify what restored connectivity or whether any speed limits remain.
The update follows disruptions affecting the military satellite service that complicated Ukrainian drone operations and frontline logistics.
On Wednesday, defense ministry sources told Kyiv Post that SpaceX had imposed restrictions overnight without advance warning to Ukraine’s defense forces.
They described a speed limit of 160 kilometers per hour, or about 100 mph, although units reported losing connections at different speeds, ranging from approximately 72 to 161 km/h, or about 45 to 100 mph.
The restrictions hampered drone missions, including interceptor and medium-range strike operations, and reduced capabilities for logistics, reconnaissance, and communications relay, the sources said.
On Wednesday, the ministry said that it was contacting the US, SpaceX, and NATO partners, collecting reports from units, while also checking and activating backup communications channels.
