Walmart is offering the best deal right now on an affordable 1080p-capable gaming PC. For a limited time, you can pick up a CyberPowerPC prebuilt gaming PC featuring the newest Intel Core Ultra 7 PLUS CPU and GeForce RTX 5060 Ti GPU for $1,249 with free shipping. It's much more powerful (and upgradeable) than the Steam Machine.
CyberPowerPC RTX 5060 Ti Gaming PC for $1,249
The CyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme gaming PC is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus CPU, GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB GPU, 16GB of DDR5 RAM, and 1TB NVMe SSD. The Intel Core Ultra 7 270K is part of Intel's newest Arrow Lake Refresh desktop CPUs released earlier this year. It features 24 cores and a maximum turbo frequency of 5.5GHz and excels at both gaming and productivity tasks. It's cooled by a 360mm liquid AIO.
The RTX 5060 Ti 8GB is the best 1080p GPU you'll find at this price
The RTX 5060 Ti graphics card is a great GPU for 1080p gaming. It outperforms the RTX 4060 Ti by about 20%, and the gap widens in games that support DLSS 4.5. Note that this model has 8GB of VRAM, which means that although it will play most games at 1440p quite well, it will struggle with more demanding games that use a lot of VRAM. If you want to play games like Control: Resonant or The Blood of Dawnwalker at 1440p, then I'd suggest jumping to an RTX 5070 equipped gaming PC. There's actually one on sale for $1,449, which isn't that much more.
This system is much more powerful than the Steam Machine
On a side note, this is a significantly more powerful computer than the $1,049 Steam Machine, which is equipped with a very low wattage CPU and a custom GPU equivalent to the Radeon RX 7600 or GeForce RTX 4060. Expect to see at the bare minimum a 30%-40% performance advantage favoring the RTX 5060 Ti gaming rig. The CyberPowerPC is also much easier to upgrade in the future, since it uses non-proprietary off-the-shelf parts and a classic midtower PC design.
