DAEGU — Keimyung University Dongsan Hospital said on the 21st that Cho Chul-hyun, a professor of orthopedic surgery, has been named to the "World's Top 2% Scientists" list jointly released by Stanford University and the global academic publisher Elsevier.
The list divides researchers worldwide into 22 fields and selects honorees using a range of indicators, including data-based career achievements, citations of papers over the past year, the number of published papers and the number of single-author papers.
Cho was recognized for outstanding academic achievement, publishing more than 10 clinical and basic research papers each year in prominent domestic and international journals while providing specialized care and performing surgery for shoulder and elbow joint conditions.
"Questions I encountered while treating patients in the clinical setting naturally led to in-depth research, and I have worked to create a virtuous cycle in which the findings return to patients as the best possible treatment," Cho said.
