Rioters on fire, yobs crushed by huge panes of glass, and a hand 'blown off' by a grenade.
These are the chaotic scenes pouring out of France and other countries on the continent as violence and mayhem continue to grip parts of Europe.
Over the weekend nearly 2,400 rioters were arrested by French police after largely peaceful protests over the cost-of-living crisis, education standards and the government descended into chaos.
After weeks of disorder across the country, Emmanuel Macron on Sunday pleaded for 'unity' and vowed everything would be done to bring thugs to justice.
Some of the scenes coming out of Paris and elsewhere across the country are unprecedented and extraordinary as the world watches on in horror.
Footage shared online has revealed the extent of the lawlessness throughout France and the depravity with which rioters have targeted innocent people and businesses and fought back against the police.
From rioters being set alight to yobs being crushed by huge panes of glass to a young demonstrator having his hand 'blown off' in the street.
These are the most extreme examples of so-called 'instant karma', or what many on social media have dubbed FAFO – 'f**k around, find out' – as their actions backfire.

In one 19-second video clip, a masked thug and his accomplices – dressed in all-black – can be seen running from a tram stop when he realises he is on fire.
As he looks down to see his tracksuit bottoms ablaze, he stumbles onto the pavement as he desperately tries to pull them down.
He then spins around and stomps up and down, his tracksuit bottoms now at his ankles.
The young man falls over and a group of fellow rioters begins to crowd around him in an effort to help.

Elsewhere in France, a protester is 'seriously wounded' while attempting to loot a Lacoste store when a huge window pane collapses on him, sending him flying.
In the footage, a crowd is seen gathering around a man holding what appears to be a manhole cover which he uses as a battering ram to destroy the shop window.
However, the glass comes crashing down on his head and the man is knocked to the floor, when he appears to again hit his head.
The caption posted alongside the footage reads: 'A protestor in France is seriously wounded after trying to loot a store but ending up with massive head trauma.'
In separate footage, though it is unclear whether of the same incident, a member of the public films a glass window crushing a protester before police swarm.
Officers decked out in riot gear rush several rioters who appear to run over to the injured man to help him break free from the window pane.
But other videos shared online have revealed the more grim scenes pouring out of France.
In one such clip, filmed from above, sirens blare as roughly two dozen people rush over to a masked rioter who reportedly had his hand blown off by a stun grenade after picking it up in an attempt to throw it back at police.
One man holds a tricolore flag while others attempt to provide the suspected young man first aid.
A huge pool of blood soaks into the pavement while another person holds an umbrella over the wounded person and another cradles him.

From the footage it appears as though his whole hand has been blown off as what looks like bone and dangling flesh remain.
Elsewhere across Europe, in Italy, a man reportedly attempts to guard his store from masked yobs running away with stolen goods.
The shop owner, armed with a baton, paces up and down the street looking for rioters before catching a protester wearing all-black fleeing from the store.
The child throws the stolen clothes at the man in an attempt to quickly distract him before making a run for it.
Meanwhile the store owner tries to warn others away by swinging his baton in the air.
More protesters then pour out of the store carrying clothing they had stolen but he is unable to stop any one of them before he grabs and throws a rioter to the ground.
Standing over him with the baton, the yob throws his hands up in the air while a member of the public helps the store owner detain him before frogmarching him away, presumably towards police.
France was last night rocked by another evening of rioting as the interior minister admitted the police had 'lost control' in some cities.
In a national address following emergency talks with senior ministers, Mr Macron made an impassioned plea 'for unity' and insisted everything would be done to bring thugs to justice.
The French leader pledged that 'all the necessary lessons' would be drawn from the 'intelligence failures' that ultimately led to almost 2,400 arrests over the weekend.
The demonstrations began over the cost-of-living crisis, education standards and President Macron's government, with most gatherings largely peaceful.
US President Donald Trump has now claimed 'immigrants with hatred in their hearts' had made the country ungovernable.
