An RTI response has revealed how the Cabinet Secretariat handled complaints filed by Election Commissioners S.S. Sandhu and Vivek Joshi against senior Election Commission official Maneesh Garg over changes in work allocation. The Cabinet Secretariat decided against taking action, citing the Election Commission’s constitutional independence. It also sent a copy of its acknowledgement to Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. However, it remains unclear whether the CEC responded to the communication.
