Agartala, Oct 14: A total of 1,449 youths in Tripura have successfully completed the first phase of the Digital Employability Enhancement Program (DSD-DEEP) and received certificates under the Chief Minister’s Skill Development Scheme, aiming to enhance their digital skills and employment prospects.
Certificates were distributed to the successful trainees at a programme held at the conference hall of the Directorate of Skill Development on Wednesday, according to a press note issued by the directorate.
The first phase of DSD-DEEP is being implemented through MKCL for 2,000 trainees across 20 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and seven private computer centres in the state. All 2,000 seats have been filled, while 1,449 enrolled candidates have completed the course and received their certificates so far.
The initiative aims to provide accessible digital training to youths across Tripura through institutions located close to their homes. Each course has a duration of 120 hours and covers key areas, including data management using Excel, DEEP-ITS, mobile application development, desktop publishing and Banking, Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI).

The programme is designed to equip trainees with practical digital skills aligned with industry requirements, improving their employment opportunities in offices, business establishments and the service sector both within and outside the state.
With computers and smartphones becoming essential tools in almost every field, digital proficiency is increasingly important for technical workers and office staff alike. The programme seeks to complement existing technical skills with expertise in spreadsheet management, document preparation and digital financial services, enabling young people to pursue jobs or establish their own ventures.
The second phase of DSD-DEEP is expected to commence soon. The curriculum is being restructured to make the programme more beneficial for ITI students by integrating digital competencies with their technical training, further strengthening their employability.
The Directorate of Skill Development congratulated the successful candidates and wished them success in their future endeavours.
