KINGSTON, Jamaica — Dancehall artiste Grace “Spice” Hamilton has been honoured with a Philanthropist Award by her alma mater, St Catherine High School, in recognition of her contributions to the performing arts and communities in Jamaica.
In a post on Instagram, Spice expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as a “full-circle moment” as she reflected on her journey from student to award recipient.
“What an incredible honour to be recognised by my alma mater, St Catherine High School, with the Philanthropist Award!,” she wrote.
Spice, who attended the institution in St Catherine, said she returned to collect the award dressed in blue from head to toe, paying tribute to the school’s colours.
“From walking in St Catherine High School as a young girl with big dreams to returning as an honoree, this is truly a full-circle moment. I am deeply humbled and grateful for this recognition,” she said.
She also thanked the school and Kiwanis for celebrating her contributions to the performing arts and communities across Jamaica.
“No matter how far life takes me, I will never forget where my journey began, right in Pascal Hall, 35 John’s Road, St Catherine High,” she added, while congratulating the other award recipients.
“Thank you to everyone and big up all the other honorees. One love every time,” she said.
