A female K-Pop idol disclosed shocking stories of what she went through during the process of re-debuting in a second girl group.
On October 13th, a video titled “Shincheonji Girl Group Story Part 2” was posted by Jung Eunwoo, who was in PRISTIN and HINAPIA.
Along with the video, she wrote, “After posting part 1, I received many shocking DMs, but they are still spreading lies. Be careful,” making additional revelations.
K-Pop Idol Shocks With Former Group’s Connection To Alleged Cult
Previously, in the first video, Jung Eunwoo stated that after PRISTIN disbanded, she was preparing a new group with members who shared her vision and met an investor. The investor promised full support from album production to advertising shoots, but after signing the contract, confusing events occurred.
She particularly drew attention by claiming that HINAPIA was “close to the Shincheonji group.”
In this new video, she shared more detailed experiences. Jung Eunwoo recalled, “Suddenly, they said they would go to Mount Jiri to gain spiritual power. Then they said they would give us some energy,” adding that members went one by one to a shaman to receive this energy.
She also alleged that the process of deciding the group’s name was suspicious. She said, “They held a meeting among themselves and said the group name should be HINAPIA, saying ‘The president told us to do it this way,’ which was a story we couldn’t understand.”
She complained that the conditions after debut were very different from what they had initially been promised. Jung Eunwoo revealed, “If there were seven music shows, we barely appeared on two,” and added, “We had to choose the cheapest costumes from shopping malls because of budget shortages.”
She continued, “All the talk about ‘everything is prepared generously with money’ was all lies,” accusing that the promised support was not properly provided.
Eventually, Jung Eunwoo decided to terminate her contract with the agency. She confessed, “In the end, things didn’t work out again, and I got scammed. I was so disillusioned that I think I was the first to cancel the contract.”
The continuous failures in group activities led her to give up her dream of being a singer. Jung Eunwoo candidly shared, “Many people ask me if I want to be a singer again, but since the first group didn’t succeed and I got scammed in the second, I no longer want to.” She added, “Although I feel regret, I thought at the time, ‘Maybe this path isn’t meant for me.’“
