A MONORAIL crashed into the arm of a crane hanging dangerously close to the track in São Paulo, Brazil, causing the structure to collapse in an incident captured on video.
Footage circulating on social media shows the train travelling along the track before striking the crane’s boom, which was positioned too close to its path. The impact caused the crane arm to collapse onto the track.
A motorcyclist travelling nearby narrowly avoided the falling structure, appearing to pass the area moments before the crane arm came crashing down.
The crane operator was injured in the incident, while all passengers aboard the monorail were safely evacuated. No injuries were reported among the passengers.
The dramatic footage has since gone viral on social media, raising concerns about the positioning of construction equipment near active public transport infrastructure.
