The family of Allen Bailey revealed that the former Chief defensive end died of natural causes, TMZ Sports reported Wednesday.
Bailey’s brother, Alford Bailey Jr., told the outlet that 37-year-old’s wife, Lauren, found him dead Tuesday inside their Florida home.
He played his first eight NFL seasons in Kansas City (2011-2018) before spending his final two seasons in Atlanta.

If he stayed one season longer with the Chiefs, Bailey could have had a Super Bowl ring in what was just Patrick Mahomes’ second year as the starter.
The University of Miami product was selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2011 draft.
When he wrapped up his career in 2020 at the age of 31, Bailey had 22 sacks, four forced fumbles and 248 combined tackles across 133 games.
Former teammates paid tribute to Bailey on Wednesday.

“Lost a teammate, a friend, a brother. God needed another angel. Rest easy, my brother.🕊️🙏” Jeff Allen, former Chiefs offensive lineman, added on X.
Bailey, an Sapelo Island, Georgia native, went to McIntosh County Academy before attending Miami.
