Manchester City came out of their 3-2 win over Ipswich Town with a host of injury concerns. Antoine Semenyo, Erling Haaland, Matheus Nunes, Mateo Kovacic and Nico O’Reilly all picked up injuries in the win at the Etihad Stadium. Enzo Maresca has subsequently revealed that Antoine Semenyo will be sidelined for eight weeks due to a knee injury. Obviously, this rules Semenyo out of Manchester City’s Champions League match week three match against AEK Athens tomorrow night. The Manchester City squad trained today and it seems like a picture has emerged of which players City could be without tomorrow night.

Four players fail to train as Manchester City prepare for AEK Athens clash.
Enzo Maresca’s squad trained earlier today ahead of their match against AEK Athens tomorrow night. The open training session was broadcast on mancity.com and the answer to whether or not Erling Haaland, Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes and Nico O’Reilly would train with their teammates emerged. None of the quartet who picked up injuries against Ipswich Town were spotted training. Their availability for tomorrow night’s match now appears to be in severe doubt.
The Manchester City squad which was pictured training can be seen below.
Goalkeepers: Gianluigi Donnarumma, Geronimo Rulli, Marcus Bettinelli.
Defenders: Rico Lewis, Abdukodir Khusanov, Ruben Dias, Marc Guehi, Vitor Reis, Kaden Braithwaite, Josko Gvardiol, Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Midfielders: Ayyoub Bouaddi, Elliot Anderson, Enzo Fernandez, Rayan Cherki, Phil Foden.
Forwards: Ryan McAidoo, Allan, Iliman Ndiaye, Jeremy Doku, Floyd Samba.
Enzo Maresca will likely have to rotate his squad to cover the expected absence of five key players.
Antoine Semenyo will definitely miss tomorrow night’s match for Manchester City. It also seems like the chances of Erling Haaland, Matheus Nunes, Mateo Kovacic, and Nico O’Reilly playing against AEK Athens appear slim. If those four players are unavailable tomorrow night Enzo Maresca will have the opportunity to heavily rotate his squad. This provides an opportunity for Manchester City’s fringe players to make an impression. That is one they will have to take should it arrive at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow night.
A picture has emerged of which players Manchester City could be without tomorrow night. Erling Haaland, Mateo Kovacic, Matheus Nunes, and Nico O’Reilly failed to train earlier today. It remains to be seen if they are available to play against AEK Athens in a match that City have to win. Fortunately, Enzo Maresca has a strong squad to choose from. He is likely to call upon it at the Etihad Stadium tomorrow night.
