LG Corp. (003550) is entering the U.S. market for brokering graphics processing unit transactions through PADO, an artificial intelligence company spun off from LG Electronics' (066570) North America Innovation Center, known as LG NOVA. The GPU trading market is projected to grow to 19.3 trillion won from 6.8 trillion won this year by 2033, and is seen as core infrastructure for the AI era.
PADO recently unveiled a GPU trading platform called PADO Compute, industry sources said on the 19th. The service connects cloud operators that own GPUs with AI companies seeking to rent them. The platform is designed to let users compare rental prices and terms for chips including Nvidia's H100, H200, B200 and B300, and holds more than 54,000 sets of transaction terms.
The company has also posted job openings for specialists in GPU trade brokerage. The roles cover sourcing suppliers, negotiating prices and arranging long-term rental contracts, with target clients including AI developers as well as robotics, defense, biotechnology and financial firms.
PADO began as an internal new business at LG NOVA and was spun off as a separate company in May last year. Its main focus is using AI to improve the efficiency of power and cooling systems at data centers. In April, LG Electronics unveiled a data center energy operations platform it developed jointly with PADO.
With PADO's entry into GPU brokerage, LG Group strengthens what it calls "One LG" synergy, spanning everything from securing computing resources for AI data centers to supplying power, cooling and operations.
